Caroline Achaintre is influenced by the German Expressionism and post-war British sculpture, these movements are known for their crude aesthetics which conveyed the trauma of the war era. Her works draw heavily on Primitivism and Expressionism, specify the traditions of carnival and tribal masks, and also the intuitive attraction and repulsion on the visual effect. Achaintre is interested in making connections between ancient and modern, psychology and physics, exoticism and technology.

Although Achaintre's process is very labor intensive, her references or drawings are formed in a very short period of time. The artist makes tufted objects as a way to translate drawing into real spaces. In order to make the work, Achaintre needs to tuft each individual piece of yarn into a woven canvas base, the process she considers is like painting on a piece of wool. The reason she uses wool is physicality, the natural fabric implies something primitive, but also provides the technical precision of post-industrial craft.

The glitchy arithmetic digital images are combining by the typewriter's index of letters and symbols. The typewriter drawings present the transformation of digital imagery to a physical pictorial space through a typewriter. In the artist statement from his website, he claims that "I am driven by the search for an analog translation of digital imagery. I utilize this printing method as a means of producing paintings in a wider sense." This is one of the ways to bring the digital image into the physical world.
